Finally

Ok, I know it's been forever since I've posted anything on his blog. Honestly, I either was running around like a chicken with my head cut off or we didn't really have anything to post.

We got to talk to Cody (excuse me, Elder Hoffman) on Christmas day which was fantastic!! I didn't think I'd miss him as much as I do. He spent Christmas in Palmer this year, and apparently had opened all the Christmas presents we had sent him before Christmas :( Oh well. I'll have to have my mom get on here and post some of the stuff he told them or has told them in past letters. He's doing really well and seems to really love the Alaskan weather.

Only 6 more months!!! We'll start a tentative countdown, but won't know his exact release date for a little while.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and is ready for the New Year!

Remember Cody loves letters, so please right to him. If you need the address just email me at tiffanytenney@hotmail.com and I'll get it to you!

Hey Family,

Things here are going ok. The work here is pretty much dead. We only have 2
investigators. But things could get alot worse. Oh and mom my neck size is 16 1/2.
Send two short sleeves. I cant think of a spiritual experience right now. Everytime
I go tracting its strange wether its a guy yelling at us to get the F out of here or
just strange people. And Everything I eat is interesting. I love you and miss you.

Hey Family,

So to try and catch everbody up to date. I am in Fairbanks, Alaska serving in the
fairbanks 6th ward. I live in an apartment that is on a farm. We have 3 cows, 1 calf,
15 chickens, 1 goose, 2 pigs, and alot of rabbits. I've also served in Eagle River in
the Alpenglow ward and Sterling in the Sterling ward. I've had at least 12 baptisms
thats in counting all the poeple that I have taught and ended up getting baptized.
There names are Don Slats, Heather Saltzgiver, Tommy Honer, Brandon Bailey,
Rylie Jackson, Nick Van Bruggen, Ellena Mabeus, Anastasa Rang, Linzie Rang,
Raven Rang, Eric Thorp, and Antony De Angelis.

I've also gone fishing on the Kenai River, gone dog mushing, seen the Northern
Lights, played basketball and dodgeball and football. I've seen alot of moose and
eagles. I've served with Elder Call, Elder Nelson, Elder Opaco, Elder Gause,
Elder Longworth, and Elder Lee. I have had a Chevy Colorado and Dodge Caliber to
drive on my mission. The Calibers are horrible cars do not buy them they should all
be destroyed. I sprained my ankle severly on January 15, 2009. I was on cruches for
a week and then I was walking on my ankle again. The coldest I've seen in Alaska
is -40 degrees. I've had a volcano Mt. Redoubt erupt on my mission. I've had a
25 ft. wall that weighted probly two tons fall on me and other missionaires.
I've milked cows which is fun. I've gone down to Healy and taken on the Grizzley
Burger Challenge and won. I don't know what else I'm missing right know so if I
think of it I'll write it down and send it next week. I love you and miss you.

Hey Mom,

No mom Transfer aren't today there next Monday. And from the sounds of it I'm not going to get transferred. My companion on the ofter hand will be transferred. So I'll be getting a new companion. But it was interesting the way President told me. From the way he said it I might either get a new senior or a new junior or I might be training. So I'll find out Saturday whats all going on. What is the gift Stac got for me? That way I can tell you to send it or not. Oh and tell Robyn that she needs to make a trip to Fairbanks while I'm here. I'll be here til maybe June 8. Fairbanks is awesome. We started teaching this couple and they liked what they heard. An now they want to get married and be baptized. Oh and the day before Easter I got to go down to Healy with one of my zone leaders that I really like. He had me take on the Grizzly Burger Challenge. Which is you eat this one pound burger that as bacon, cheese, and a fried egg on it. And you have to eat this burger and all the fries. So you can get your picture on the wall. So I decided to take on the challenge and I destroyed it. Which was Amazing. So I got my picture on the wall. The weather here is good. Its around 40 to 50 degrees. So I've been wearing my short sleeve shirts. I'll try to send home a memory card this week. I love you and miss you.

Hey Family,

That excuse is ok. Now heres my excuse for e-mailing on wednesday. We had
our temple day last wednesday so they switched our p-day from monday to
wednesday. Yes I did finally get my christmas package out of the mail box. I
was wearing my new ski socks when i strained my ankle. I did tell you mom
when I called on christmas. Yeah the weather has been crazy up here and I
don't pay attention to the sun mom so I don't know when it comes up or goes
down. The teaching is going well. We are having a wedding and a baptism on
Saturday. No Anastasia and her daughters haven't gotten baptized yet. We're
hoping that her surgery goes good and she'll be baptized soon. No we haven't
seen the Zollingers. Is Joseph Blake Zollinger his full name? Yeah its going
to be my 6 month mark on Friday. I can't believe it. No I don't need anymore
thermal garments. Eagle River is more of a city. Its different from
Sterling. Yes we're living in an apartment. Transfers are next week. So I
don't know if I'm staying or going. my guess is that I'm staying. I love you
and miss you.

Hey Family,

No e-mail from you this week. That makes me sad. Things are going good
here. I finally joined the rest of you with bad ankles. I sprained my ankle
last thursday playing basketball. The funny part about it was that we had
zone conference the very next day. But don't worry about it. I have alot of
fun hopping around on one foot. and seeing how you didn't send me an e-mail
this week. I don't know what else to talk about so. I love you all and miss
you too.

All my Love,
Elder Cody Lee Hoffman
